We are proud to secure another Too Darn Hot at the sale, this time out of the New Zealand-bred mare Gunmetal Girl, a pedigree that combines elite international performance with proven Southern Hemisphere bloodlines.

 

Too Darn Hot needs little introduction. A Group 1 class racehorse, he is now rapidly asserting himself as a dominant force in the breeding ranks across both hemispheres. He continues to prove himself a remarkably versatile stallion, producing quality runners across all distance ranges highlighted by our own successes with Shanwah and Perspiration, among others.

 

Her dam, Gunmetal Girl, hails from a strong New Zealand family. She is by Proisir, a son of champion broodmare sire Choisir, and out of Prophet Jewel, by champion broodmare sire Encosta De Lago a powerful blend of elite broodmare influences.

 

The second dam, Ghia, is a half-sister to the exceptional Freequent, a seven-time winner and outstanding stakes performer who placed six times at black-type level, including a third in the Group 1 Hawke’s Bay Cup. Importantly, Freequent has gone on to leave a lasting legacy as a producer, with high-class performers such as I Do, Iggi Pop, and Justaskme, a 13-time winner.

 

Physically, this filly boasts excellent length, good shoulder and bone. She covers the ground with ease and efficiency and presents as a classic, versatile filly with the scope to develop into a high-quality racehorse.
