Ryan Curatolo
Global Brand Ambassador
Ryan attended the jockey school in Chantilly and after graduating, started working at a stable with the hopes of getting on some good mounts in France. However, after a year, Ryan decided to leave France to go to the USA where he could try his luck and gain some international experience. One week after arriving at Calder, Florida Ryan won his first race. He later moved to Gulfstream Park, FL and the apprentice rider managed to win fourteen races while among the company of America's top jockeys. While in Florida, Ryan caught the eye of the late Carl Lizza and signed on to become the first-call rider for Flying Zee Stable, which was the leading owner on the NY circuit at the time.
Ryan also caught the attention of trainer Patrick Biancone, who had a reputation for developing aspiring French riders into top-notch jockeys. Ryan went to Monmouth Park every Tuesday to work with and learn from Biancone. Ryan became one of the best jockeys in NY & Florida and that led him to the Eclipse Award and a Breeders Cup ride at the age of 20. The successful rider rode for her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Sheikh Mohamed Al Maktoum. Ryan at the time was one of the main jockeys to be booked for the likes of Mr. Christophe Clement based in NY (Belmont Park, Saratoga) and Florida. A journey in the US where he owned the title of Multiple Group races winning Jockey.
Ryan decided to expand his international experience in Asia and landed in Macau, China where he spent 3 years competing with phenomenal successes such as winning two Group 1 including the Macau Gold Cup with Bobo So Cute. At 24 Ryan was already a multiple Group 1 winning jockey. The talented jockey then spent 3 months in Japan, where he visited the winner's circle 29 times beating again a record of most wins for short time visa. Again achievement in a foreign country. Ryan had also the opportunity to ride in Singapore for one year where he had considerable success and took home some group races.
Ryan was located in Qatar in 2020-2021, where he's won many races including, the $500,000 Qatar Derby Group 1 on a horse named Full Moon and the Group 3 Qatar Oaks with Ex-Miss.
End of 2021 Ryan was located in Dubai and had multiple successes for the Sheik Ahamed Al Maktoum including winning the G3 Maydan 2000 Guineas.
Ryan is a multiple group one winning jockey with worldwide experience and therefore, we decided at Starblue Consultancy to sponsor him and to get him to ride some of our horses when the call is right. He is an invaluable asset for us and we cannot be happier about this collaboration.
“He is an athlete that wants to discover the world, Ryan is a passionate horseman who is hungry for success, determined, professional and wants to experience the winning glory everywhere in the world, I do believe Ryan will ride many winners in Australia via our connections in the near future, we are very pleased to have him on board”.
